On to the next of our Best Luxury Handbag Edit series is another legendary fashion house: Balenciaga. The House of Balenciaga was founded by Spanish haute couturier Cristóbal Balenciaga, who holds the reputation of inventing the style of the 20th century.
Balenciaga’s very first runway show in Paris 1937 was believed to be strongly inspired by Spanish Renaissance– an elegant allusion to classical antiquity. Today, the House of Balenciaga is owned by the French company, Kering. Under the creative direction of Demna Gvasalia, he continues to uphold the house’s sculptural traditions and primary couture silhouettes loved by the fashion culture.
